Who We Are
This site was created by working moms in Oakland who want to help during this unprecedented pandemic. The effort was initiated by Krista Luchessi, a long-time director of a program that provides free groceries to 5,000 low-income seniors in Alameda County every month. Oakland at Risk Match is a personal extension of that passion for helping seniors and is driven by the sudden dramatic drop in those able to shop for food or pick up medication. And the isolation that can drive emotional and physical challenges. We want to make sure everyone who needs help can safely get that from volunteers that follow our CDC-recommended protocols.
Day-to-day operations and matches are being run by co-founder Paige Wheeler Fleury, whose work on an advisory council for a low-income senior program has led her to share Krista's passion for helping this vulnerable population. As a marketing strategist, she works with a variety of non-profits and higher education clients. She's putting her years of marketing experience to work as they promote Oakland At Risk through all media channels.
